Radar, short for RAdio Detection And Ranging, uses radio waves to locate objects, with diverse applications in military defense (missile warnings, tracking), air traffic control, navigation (ships, satellites), weather forecasting, and even civilian uses like speed guns, providing crucial long-range surveillance and data impossible to get otherwise, from tracking satellites to mapping planets.
